This may be a good app, but it confuses me a lot, I'm not a professional graphics editor, but I can use most of basic functions on Photoshop without problem, on this one, i simply have no idea.
Maybe I should switch back to PS. New comers may give it more time. If you google "pixelmator pro stroke", you wil find other people fraustrating just like me. I bought a Macintosh a few months before this app was released. I was ocmsidering purchasing Photoshop on the subscriotion midel but decided to hold out and wait for this software instead. Ive been extremely please with the results so far. It was a one time purchase and the devlopers have added so may new features over the last year.
Getting used to the new UI was a little challenging but once I got thr hang of it, there was nothign to using thia applicaiton. The repair tool works extremely well and saves me a lot of time fixing small blemishes and removing unwanted objects from the bakcground.
Thank you Pixelmator Pro. Finally supports a white UI so you can actually see the controls and you can have it use this even when MacOS is set to Dark mode. Use of MacOS Metal software makes tools much smarter. Removing a picture background via Quick Select was taking me an hour with the original Pixelmator, so I dared to try the PRO version and was amazed — only 7 minutes to remove and it was significantly more precise around the edges. Also love that most of the tools are easily available in the editing window itself, so no more constant shuffling around multiple tool windows while working.

If the devs are wanting this to be a photo editing tool for the common person, it needs to be less cryptic. I just bail and do something else. I've been using Pixelmator for years, and it has had almost every feature you could possibly want, and at the price it an excellent replacement for Photoshop. However, some features like the clone stamp tool and text tool and crop tool simply cease to function without any explanation or fix.
I've checked to see if others have had these issues and it seems that the clone stamp tool has been out of commission for a while and has never been addressed. Cropping can't be resized, the handles on the edges simple move the selection around.
I'm semi-interested in Pixelmator Pro, but I can't find any comparison or list of new features to tell me if it's worth the upgrade.
